My update

I think it’s been around 2 months of more activity. I picked a great time of day to work out alone in our company’s fitness center. Only one other woman and she is great to talk to if I’m in the mood or can talk. huff puffing.  It’s been over 2 months since my Dad died and he would want me to continue my healthy goals. He was an inspiration when it came to healthy weight loss and taking care of himself. when he was 65 he had high cholesterol and started “working out” at 5 am for about an hour. He brought the chol down and didn’t have to take meds. He was very healthy up until he couldn’t walk anymore, then he still wanted to be healthy, mainly for my mom and us. He had a full long life and did exactly what he wanted, mentally.

So I have this 4 day a week plan of elliptical/treadmill habit that I am trying to stick to. I want to continue thru summer too, it gets too hot outside to run for me (sweating) then I go back to work for the rest of the day, don’t want to stink too much, however that would keep people away and I would have less work to do, hmmmmm. Use my lunch time for that purpose.  I have been push mowing the lawn too, my husband wanted a rider, and I have so far talked him out of it, he says he needs the exercise too, we shall see when the temps are 90 degrees out…..

I am down in the 165 area again, would like to actually make it to 160, to know that I can. I’ve been stuck in this weight range for about 5 years after having my second daughter.

And I quote, “…it gets too hot outside to run for me (sweating) then I go back to work for the rest of the day, don’t want to stink too much…” That sounds like an excuse to not work out! LOL Tsk tsk, come on, who cares if you stink up the town, you’re doing it for a reason. Be proud of your stinkiness! I just went for a brisk walk and looked like DEATH when I went back in to work after lunchtime, but know what? I concentrated on my achievement. I did it… and didn’t notice people staring at me until I got off the elevator with a huge smile from ear to ear. Smile! By sweating and DOING it, you are bound to inspire someone who thinks she same as you! And what more can you ask for. :) Good luck!

I still do the workout in our fitness center, just would rather go outside in the good weather to enjoy the sunshine. the fitness center is in the basement of the building i work in so I dont go outside all day. so far our spring has sucked and can’t go outside much, so not too much torture yet. I work harder on the machines and can’t seem to push myself outside without having inclines and increased speeds? don’t like running on pavement, bothers my knees.

It was sooo beautiful out yesterday; reached 90 degrees, but I would never think to do any jogging in that weather. I can barely walk in it never mind actually breaking a sweat. You are using your lunch time wisely. I do the same - work out during my lunch break. Hey why not lol. Maybe you can try switching up your workouts and see if your body reacts to it and helps u lose the lbs.

yes, I think that was my prob last year, I would take a walk, same amt of time each day, not going any farther but with no results. I think my body was used to it. now I switch off each day w/elliptical, weights and treadmill. No plateaus, I hope.
